Help required please! The Pub Heritage Group is trying to establish when the left hand room (as you enter from the front) was converted from two rooms into the one you see now. It was sometime between 1930's and 1962, according to locals spoken to so far. Fullers cannot be bothered to answer any queries - so perhaps some of you older locals (or who have relatives/friends who would recall) can help? Many thanks. Chris

Hi all. I used to drink at the Lewes Arms many years ago until I emigrated to New Zealand. I still miss those days and look forward to catching up with Danny and Martha if and when I next get back to the UK.
Cheers David

Hi,
We run an internet website and forum all about the Norfolk Broads. What has this to do with Lewes? I hear you ask.
Well its Dwile Flonking !!!
We are holding our Spring Meet at The Dog Inn, Ludham Bridge on Saturday 29th May and intend to run a Dwile Flonking contest.
We are inviting every Dwile Flonking Team we can find in the hope of making this an annual event and hopefully the Dwile Flonking World Championships.
I must add that none of our members have ever flonked before so will probably end up in the losers seat.
I appreciate it is a distance for you to travel but camping and caravanning is available at The Dog for just £5 er pitch per night.
Please feel free to contact me for further info tudorrose@thenorfolkbroads.org

We're working on Played at the Pub, part of English Heritage's Played in Britain series on sporting heritage. We're covering dwile flonking with some of Roz South's great pix outside the Lewes Arms in 2007 but want to try and find out when this 'ancient' game was first played in Lewes. Does anybody know? Any help gratefully received! Thanks
